Wellness Programs

Life isn't just about being alive it's about really living. As we age it's especially important that we not lose our strength and ability to do everyday tasks and the activities we enjoy. Fortunately, everyone can improve his or her health and independence by increasing physical activity.

At Watersong, we've initiated an all-encompassing Wellness Program to assist you in improving your quality of life through better cardiovascular function, increased strength and flexibility, better balance and overall fitness. Our Wellness Program will inspire you to have fun and be more active, make it easier to perform daily activities, improve your health and lower your risk for disease and disability. Our person-centered approach considers the "whole" person, and is designed to maintain and improve member's current levels of physical, mental, social and spiritual wellness.

Monthly Wellness Schedules display a variety of classes and activities. You'll enjoy the opportunity to participate in Line Dancing, Chair Yoga, Pilates, Core and more; Aqua Twinges and Hinges, Making Waves, Senior Circuit, and many others! Join your friends and neighbors for these fun and motivating classes that work to keep your body and mind fit. Enjoy the post class snack and learn what else is going on with our Wellness Program through timely lectures and lunch and learns.

Senior Wellness

Classes are taught by our Wellness Coordinator who is certified and trained to deliver high quality instruction and guidance to assist you in achieving your personal fitness goals. It's almost like having your own personal trainer! The Wellness Coordinator is there also to tailor individual exercises based on your needs while teaching you how to properly use the aerobic and cardiovascular fitness equipment. At Watersong, we are here to assist you and make sure you get the quality of life you want and deserve!

A further benefit of the Wellness Program is our association with the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C. This partnership offers our members new tools for health assessments, dietary programs based on healthy weight management in older adults and successful exercise programs - all leading to more choices to support independence while aging. In keeping with the philosophy of "Live Long, Live Well, Live," this affiliation will help to develop new research that will further enrich the lives of our members and seniors throughout the world.

For those in assisted living, our Wellness Program includes medication management such as assistance with administering oral, topical, and drop medications, nebulizer treatments and subcutaneous injections to include insulin and vitamin B12 within the scope of practice under the guidance of a licensed nurse.
