Viera, Fla., February 12, 2009 - Watersong, a new all-inclusive, luxury retirement community in the heart of Viera, hosted a ribbon cutting and Mardi Gras themed grand opening celebration for the clubhouse on Tuesday, February 10, 2009. Speakers included Mary Bolin, Brevard County Commissioner, District 4, Donald Thompson, President and CEO of Senior Living Communities, Shelly Lockhart, Watersong executive director and Pastor Hoyt Byrum, Trinity Episcopal Church. "Watersong is indeed the quality of life that I am working to achieve," said Comissioner Bolin. "Being from a small town, I understand the relationship between people and their need to have friendships and commitments and giving to others. Congratulations to all of you for achieving this for us. The residents of Brevard County thank you! And I thank you!" Approximately 225 guests enjoyed elaborate Mardi Gras decorations, Cajun food and Dixieland Jazz. Chinese Acrobat Liang, previously seen on America's Got Talent and The Today Show, gave a special performance. "I think this is wonderful for seniors," said Margaret Gosher of Melbourne. "It's marvelous because of the activities they can take part of. I think Watersong is a very active community, and is striving to be a part of the town."
